I have been an accountant for about 15 years now in the Private Accounting sector. I am a hands on teacher and I try really hard to find ways to relate a subject to the individual. It is very important if a student does not understand a concept to ask questions and stay abreast of any homework. Keep in mind that Debit just means left-side of the T-account and Credit is always the right side. You have to learn what the 'normal' balance (the side the account increases on) is for each category and you'll be just fine!
