I have 4 years as an Adjunct Instructor-Accounting at Indiana Wesleyan University and Ivy Tech. I am very patient and encourage students don't think of Accounting as 'math'. Accounting is all about business principles. It is very important if a student does not understand a concept to ask questions and stay abreast of any homework. Keep in mind that Debit just means left-side of the T-account and Credit is always the right side. You have to learn what the 'normal' balance (the side the account increases on) is for each category and you'll be just fine!
