I have extensive knowledge and specialization in French language and English literature, with previous experience teaching both. I have worked as a teacher of English as a Second Language at two elementary level schools in Paris, France, as a private French tutor, and as an elementary writing/composition tutor. I am currently working on my final year to receive my bachelor's degree at Illinois Wesleyan University.
I will adapt my teaching approach based on the needs and learning styles of the student - with language, I favor a practice-based environment, both teaching grammar and theory, but always putting the new skills in to practice with each session.

I have always loved working with children. My teaching style is friendly, and casual, but still quite demanding. I try to create a comfortable and fun tutoring environment, but within that environment I challenge my students to work past their difficulties to reach levels of achievement they may not have previously believed themselves capable of. In order to create this environment I tend to incorporate games, novels, and fun worksheets that are right at the edge of a student's comfort level into my lessons. A Little Bit About Me...

With my dual B.A. in History and English, I am capable of teaching a wide range of subjects in the liberal arts. My expertise is European Literature and History, specifically ancient and medieval, but I am also comfortable with the modern period.
