While attending and completing four years of Education courses at a well respected institution I was focused and driven to complete the curriculum and focus on creative lesson planning. Maintaining a GPA of 3.6 in Education courses while participating in four years of collegiate sports really polished my ability to multi-task. A Little Bit About Me...

I hold the personal belief that, “All children are special and learn differently. Each possesses the right and the ability to learn. It is my responsibility to ensure that all children receive the knowledge and tools necessary to reach their full potential.” I think learning needs to be presented in different ways for children to learn because I do not think there is one “right” way to learn. Since not all people learn the same, I try to make sure that I can think of fun, creative, and unique methods for presenting materials. As an educator I can provide homework help, create supplemental lessons to fill-in gaps in learning, and help ensure your child is at grade level.
I graduated from the University of Redlands, in Redlands, CA, with a BA in Liberal Studies and a minor in Communicative Disorders. I have teaching credentials for both Minnesota and California as an elementary ... read more

More About This Tutor...

I really do place something of a premium on being able to connect with all of my students on an academic and personal level. I believe that this helps them as they know that their teacher and tutor cares about them and their future and, as such, this causes them to grow and excel. I can attest to such things happening with many of my students and for that I am incredibly thankful.
I have done a lot of teaching and tutoring, both with adults and young people. Most of my experience, though, comes from working with high school and junior high school students. I spent the majority of that time as a tutor/ mentor and would work with the students one on one or in small groups, both in the library or in the classroom. It was really the most wonderful experience and I was able to provide tremendous benefits to the students on both an academic and personal level.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have always wanted to be a teacher. My parents were both educators and instilled me with the desire to value an education. Being a Metropolitan State graduate, I understand first hand what an impact that a good education can have on urban students. During my own education, I strived to set an example for them by maintaining a 4.0 GPA in all my courses and successfully completing student teaching in the midst of having difficult circumstances myself, a disability. I had the opportunity to teach math a lot during this student teaching. Before earning my degree as a teacher, I was a reading tutor for 1 year.
I enjoy the diverse learners that an urban setting can bring. Different experiences and different lives can lead to many futures. I think that the key to a child's learning is to provide real life application and deliver instruction in a way that sparks a student's interest. I a ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I have extensive experience in teach chemistry to students. In the past while at the University of Wyoming I had extensive one on one tutoring sessions with both college students and HS students (AP students). I have also tutored in math, and physics in the past also.
First, I love helping people learn. I strive to show students and people that chemistry, math and science is all about a thought process and is something that everyone can learn. Teaching sciences is about helping and showing students how to approach the problems, and problem solve not to just solve problems individually. I also believe in using and finding many methods/examples to find how the student learns best.
