Students in the classroom and those tutored privately all Comment that my teaching style makes learning and mastering each subject so much easier than they have found from other teachers. Students are taught learning skills that apply to their current subject and they can apply these skills to other subjects.

My comments on tutoring ASVAB : Consistently helped raise scores in the AFQT (Language and Mathematics); can also provide strategies for vocational portions of the test.

I believe that all students can and will achieve academic success given appropriate instruction; i.e., instruction that is differentiated according to students' specific needs, learning styles, interests, and personal goals. As a classroom teacher and as a personal tutor, I have seen almost miraculous results in a relatively short period of time, both in terms of academic achievement and student confidence. ASVAB is one of my top subjects!

I have tutored math, business and science courses for high school students and adults for the last 20 years. I have tutored for standardized tests (ASVAB, FCAT, PSAT, SAT, ACT, etc) for the last 15 years - saving parents many thousands of dollars in tuition fees. I have also assisted students with homework help, time management and study skills.
I use the material that the student is familiar with to enhance the students understanding of the principles and processes that are being emphasized. I bring supplemental material for the subject area and use it as needed. Primarily, the student works problems or exercises that are required in front of me. The student verbalizes the steps and thinking processes about the subject so that I can correct fundamentals and errors in logic.

Most rewarding for a teacher is seeing the difference she makes in her students’ lives. When I began teaching to smaller groups and individual students, I realized how dynamic personal attention is to the learning process.
