I can adapt my teaching style to auditory, visual or hands-on type learning. I try to create a relaxed and fun (silly for the little ones) atmosphere where learning will be fun and memorable, because I believe that if you enjoy it - you'll remember it. All students will be given a pre-test prior to instruction so that I can decern if the students problem is one of cognative development or simply gaps in the learning process. I graduated from Adams State College in 2004 with a Bachelor's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and an Emphasis in Literacy. I was a substitute teacher for grades K-5 for one semester. I began teaching Third Grade in the Fall of 2005. I taught all general subjects as a Third Grade teacher for 4 years. I also have experience as a Fifth Grade reading teacher. I resigned at the end of the 2009-2010 school year in order to pursue a degree in the area of Medical Assisting.

Patients is a amazing thing to have when trying to teach. Many students learn at a different pace and I feel that finding that pace for every student is important. If you try to cram or learn something to quickly it only become heartache and bad grades.

While I was going to Butler County Community College I peer tutored students in both mathematics thru calculus II and english composition I and II. My trigonometry teacher had me substitute teach his college algebra and trigonometry courses for him while he away. This was some of the most satisfying work I have ever done. When a student finally understood what I was explaining it was like you could see the light come on in their head. Not only did I help the student learn the topic but it made me feel good because I had helped them.
