I enjoy working with children and understand that everyone has a unique learning style. An effective teacher works with this while exercising patience, care and consideration for students as they guide them to subject mastery. My preferred method of teaching is show and do. I show the technique or concept, and then give the student a chance to practice and demonstrate that they understand. The student learns best when they can find or develop the answer themselves. I progressed to teaching English, Spanish, and some Special Education Resource classes at the High School level, and continued to teach lower level English classes at a local college along with reading in an Adult Continuing Education program through another college. My writing skills have been sharpened as I edited and wrote articles for newsletters, newspaper releases, and in an administrative capacity.
