Piano is one of my top subjects! I have played the piano for over two decades. I have extensive training and my primary musical instrument while earning my music degree was the piano. I have played for various competitions, recitals, weddings, anniversaries, funerals and other occasions. I taught the piano at various musical studios, churches, music stores and at student's homes.

I have tutored in both Robeson County and Cumberland County for a total of six years. I tutored students in math, reading and science from grades Kindergarten to sixth grade. We also prepared students in grades three through six for the End of the Year test. We taught test taking strategies as well. In addition, I have tutored students that attend college in American Government and World History. I also, tutored in GA for three years. There I tutored various age groups in writing, reading, math, test strategies, and Microsoft Office. A Little Bit About Me...

As a teacher there is nothing more rewarding than the look on a child's face when a skill is mastered or a mystery becomes an understood concept. This is what attracted me to the field of education and what has kept me here. I am also fully aware that each student does not reach this level of mastery by following the same path. I believe one of my greatest strengths as a teacher is to be able to change this path for each student. I am aware of the different ways children learn, and seek to incorporate examples of these learning styles into each lesson. I believe that students can educate teachers just as well as teachers can educate students. I try to remain on-the-level with students in order to make them comfortable. I am very animated; yet, at the same time, I know how to get my information across. I try to be a fun and creative person, and I strive to get that across to students.
As a writer, I have a great passion for the English language. I have experience in both literature and writing through my Bachelor's degree. I am currently an MA candidate in a Creative Writing program. As an undergraduate, I minored in Studio Art. I have been a church organist for the last 8 years. I have played the organ for 17 years.
