I have been a substitute teacher for the past two years covering all grade levels from pre-k three up to senior year in high school. I am a Master's Degree candidate in Elementary Education at Wilmington University. I enjoy students at every level and am amazed at what a difference a year makes in their development. My "ace in the hole" in teaching is the fact that I care for students and they know it. I do make it well known that I am there to teach; not be their friend (or their parent!). I typically set the limits, introduce the lesson, focus on learning the content, and be attentive to individual needs. Assessment is done through answering and asking questions. Also, reviewing and an extended assighnment is used to reinforce learning. My overall goal as a teacher is to guide a student to be an independent learner and to develop a love for education.
