I love teaching children and helping them to achieve their academic goals. I am very organized and detail oriented and use those skills to organize and priortize the student's needs and specific way to achieve them. I help them set their own goals. I use a variety of curriculum and begin at the level they are at presently. I use a variety of visual aids and materials. I find what works best for the individual student, which involves getting to know the student and making a personal connection with him/her. I am kind,compassionate, easy going and determined as I work with each child. Most of all, I really care about their educational and personal well-being, and I work very hard to help them.I consider it a team effort.

My love of learning and love of working with students has motivated me to continue my education. I have earned a BA in Mus Ed (k-12) and a MA in Counseling, both school counseling and community agency counseling. I also am a private piano instructor as well as the Minister of Music at my church. I have learned problem solving and communication skills because of my many years of working with students of all levels as well as their parents. I work well with students one on one as well as large groups. I also have experience working with teenagers and adults. I was a HS band director for almost 6 yrs. I have been a private piano instructor for 16 yrs. and a Minister of Music for about 12 yrs.
