A Little Bit About Me...

I like working with children and young people very much. I believe that teaching should always be student-centered. It is my goal to find what helps a person to learn and really work with that student's natural talent and personality. I am very patient and persistent. If necessary, I think it is okay to repeat information until the student is comfortable and confident that they have learned it. I am a good communicator, and I appreciate feedback from others as well. I am always willing to adjust my style to accommodate a student's learning style.
I was formerly a high school English Teacher and an ESL teacher. I taught one year overseas teaching English as a second language. For two years, I was an education supervisor at the Hawaii Job Corps, and it was my job to ensure that the students' academic needs were being met.
