As a graduate student at the University of Alabama I instructed 3 college level physical geography laboratory sections per semester. This experience sharpened my communication skills and provided a valuable new perspective on the learning process. I was also employed as a tutor for the University's Athletic Department.

Working towards my B.S. in environmental studies I had the opportunity to work as a high school tutor in mathematics and science. I worked with children in a traditional manner, tutoring them after school by working through homework problems and past test/quiz questions. After graduation I began educating children at a nature center in a less traditional way.
