I have over 5 years of tutoring experience. I independently tutored in Physics while in my Junior and Senior year earning a Bachelors in Physics and minor in Mathematics. I have extensive Math skills and taught Calculus, all levels, at the San Antonio College for several years. It was then that I found out how much I enjoyed tutoring Calculus. I also have a Masters of Science degree awarded from the UT Health Science Center in Medical Health Physics.
I will eventually obtain my PhD in Medical Physics so that I can teach the subjects I have a passion for at the college level. I do have experience teaching high school students as well. I try to fit my teaching style to whatever the student is comfortable with. Basically, I first determine why a student needs to learn a particular concept in terms of the specific course, and then I work with the student to figure out the best way for the student to understand the concept. Because I have worked as a Researcher and Statistical Consultant as well as a Tutor, my first order of business is to determine what the real problem is, i.e., what are the reasons that the student is having trouble with a particular assignment or concept.
