I enjoy watching students grasp the scientific method as it is something that comes naturally to most people if put in the right context. Science is rewarding to teach because it incorporates other disciplines like math. I often receive comments about my effective teaching style. I believe this is because of my education and that teaching science is a passion for me and a lifetime pursuit. I have noticed that people understand science better when it is related to their life. In other words, the student can apply a scientific concept in their own life. As I am an international student, i was also a high school teacher in my home country where i used to teach math, Science and environment. Apart from this, i am working in research in the field of environmental management.
As i believe in learning form the depth of the knowledge, i don't stress on memorizing the existing things, rather i emphasize student on understanding those topics. As both an undergraduate and as a master student, I was compelled to help others who had struggled as I had with mathematics courses through the tutoring I did as part of the means of financing my university education in mathematics. I've earned both a bachelor's degree in Finance and in Mathematics with Computer Science emphasis. For four years I assisted student from mathematical topics ranging from basic mathematics through Calculus and Differential Equations. I believe in demonstrating how to do the work and then guiding the children as they apply what has been demonstrated. The best way to learn is by doing under supervised guidance. Once the children learn to apply the proper steps to accomplish the task at hand, the feeling of accomplishment drives them to continue on their own.
