I enjoy teaching adults as well as high school students. I do not have much training teaching below junior high; however, I am confident that I could successfully teach math or language. Although, I don't mind the traditional classroom setting, I am quite used to instructing on a one-to-one basis. Our GED programs are completely individualized for learners to move at their own pace, and I encourage this type of teaching style when manageable. Many of the students/adults that I have worked with have a learning disability of some sort, but I feel that I learn from each student just as much as they are learning from me. My style of teaching is adaptive for each individual student when possible. Each student has their own way of learning and it is my job to adjust to that. I try to meet the student where they are right now and devise a plan to fit what they want to do and accomplish the goals that they set.
