While I was attending college I worked in child care with a variety of ages preparing lessons for enrichment. I also taught as an adjunct professor for adult ESL at Aims Community College. After finishing my degree, I taught for five years at Wiggins Elementary in 2nd and 6th grade. I was trained in FAST reading program as well as many others for teaching reading and math. For the past two years, I have been living in the country of Macedonia as a US Peace Corps volunteer. My job there entailed working with primary school teachers to develop student centered teaching techniques and resources. I was responsible for planning, attending classes, modeling and providing feedback for teachers.

I enjoy working with students and have a high level of patience with each grade level. I am usually pretty laid-back and allow students leeway to have a bit of fun while they learn. I have a substitute teaching license from the state of Colorado. I have been subbing for Denver Public Schools and Cherry Creek School District for over three years. I have worked with ages ranging from Kindergarten to 8th grade.
