My comments on tutoring Poetry : Have written 3 books of poetry and have read poetry for many years.

I am a laid back type of instructor and use my experience and intuition to create unique learning environments for each student. I start looking right away for “What is missing?” I have seen many students who are perfectly capable but struggle because they missed a fundamental building block. Learning is always difficult. I tutored for one year at Garden City Community College in College Algebra, English, and History. I attended 15 hours of tutor training. I also have worked with children who have severe emotional disturbance in learning social and cognitive skills, as well as improving their self-confidence levels.
My teaching style is to listen to what the person needs help with, and then to ask them what they already know about the subject. During my undergraduate career, I was privileged to enroll into the Physiology department in the College of Medicine at the University of Arizona. The University of Arizona is one of 10 schools throughout the country that offer the physiology major to undergraduates. My BS degree is unique, and allowed me to continue to purse a part of medicine I have a strong passion for.
