I began tutoring privately,as well as,for my school's learning center during the early 1990's. I have continued tutoring privately on and off for the past twenty years. I was a substitute teacher in California and Michigan during the 2000's. I also had my own high school level classroom in California for two school years. I was hired on an "Emergency Credential" because I had my BS but no teaching credential. I was laid off due to budget cuts in June of 2003. I also taught "at-risk" elementary age children during the summer for the Glendora Unifed School District in Glendora, CA. I tutored privately for three years from 2005-2008 in south Los Angeles County and north Orange County, CA. I can provide recommendations from these clients if you are interested. My youngest students were in first grade with my oldest students attending college.

I have been tutoring for many years and enjoy the experience. While working at a tutoring center, I created detailed progress reports and organized individual lesson plans for each student and discussed their progress with parents on a daily basis. It was very rewarding to see that I could make a difference in a child's life. It is very exciting to see a child succeed, which in turn raises their confidence and self-esteem. Whether in groups or in one-on-one sessions, I work patiently with each student and on their level, to ensure they get the most out of our time.
I have recently graduated from Lawrence Technological University with a BA in graphic design, although all of my work experience has been with children. A Little Bit About Me...

I first gained tutoring experience as a member of my high school's National Honor Society where I tutored math and science for middle school students. When I entered college I pushed myself to do well and have been inducted into numerous honor societies as a result. I am currently a member the following honor societies: Phi Theta Kappa, Sigma Zeta and Kappa Gamma Pi. I am a 2010 graduate of Madonna University, with a BS in Biology. I am receiving this degree with honors. While at Madonna University my success in my classes led to my acquisition of a tutoring position in the sciences (biology and chemistry) and to a supplemental teaching position in microbiology.
