I feel that I have a very creative teaching style. I believe that every child learns differently! Once getting to know a student, I can come up with lesson plans that are specifically for them.
I am currently an Indiana University elementary education major! I love working with students and I have been working with all ages ever since I was 11 years old. I started babysitting at 11, and have been working with kids ever since. I was a nanny for three summers, and I have worked at Build-a-Bear workshop. When I tutor, I first strive to make the session interesting and fun. Before beginning, I would strive to identify which types of learning the student excels in and focus on them. I also make sure to change the learning styles and activities often to avoid students from becoming tired of an exercise.

I love helping others overcome obstacles to understanding, and showing them that they have the ability to do what they thought was impossible. I believe in building upon a solid foundation so that the student really learns and understands the concepts of a subject (and doesn’t just shoot for a passing grade). I like to discuss the material and include additional background information because that helps make the subject more interesting. Where formulas, memorization and/or calculations are involved, I will explain, practice, check for understanding and practice again.
