My comments on tutoring Life Science : I have tutored a couple elementary students, but realize that things continue to change!

Very much based on working with what the student knows. I tend to start by having them explain to me what they are doing and what they think. I then provide some guidance and walk through a sample problem with them. I ask that they try another problem like it on their own and ask questions to prompt them as they work.
I started tutoring in high school for extra credit. I have primarily tutored in mathematics and general chemistry! I tutored a girl in Algebra 1 for a year, helped my best friend and her Mom with college mathematics, and worked through college algebra with my husband. I went to Eastern Illinois University for a degree in elementary education with a focus on middle school math and science. Math and Science have always come easy to me and I have done some tutoring previously in these areas. I worked at a school all through college running the after school program where one of my tasks was assisting the students with their homework.
