I enjoy teaching others and helping them excel in their studies. I can relate to younger students because I have a six year old who required extensive help in the area of reading. She was one of my greatest achievements because I had to research a way to communicate on her level of understanding and yet make it interesting and fun. Now instead reading being a weakness it is a strength for her because she has excelled and developed confidence in this area too. I graduated from Lawrence Technological University with a bachelor's degree in Business / Computer Information Systems. I completed numerous courses in Mathematics, Science, Statistics, English Composition, and computers. I have 20 years experience working in the Computer and Health field for Chrysler Corporation and St. John Health. Also, I returned to college to pursue an associate degree in Nursing and Radiology. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is interactive. I like to give students a chance to apply what they have learned in groups or aloud amid classroom peers. Each student is different and might require more assistance than others, so in practice, the more the student works at a problem the better he/she becomes. In some cases remediation could be in order and if so, take home practice work could be in order.
I have been a guest teacher in several school districts over the years off andd on. Since I worked in Telecommunications most of my life, I worked occasionally for agencies that assign guest teachers to different schools daily. In my current degree program, I write extensively on various topics such as human development and leadership. I have tutored before in basic math and basic algebra as well as english.

As a graduate student from Central Michigan University I have learned several different methods to use when tutor students. Knowing that all students do not learn the same way or at the same speed I use several different programs/methods when tutoring a student. With younger studengts I use a combination of work books and computer lessons along with small homework assignments. With older students I use programs such as writing small reports at first while slowly building them up to larger yet easy to grasp essays. I work with the students on topics that they are interested in to try to make their tutoring as enjoyable as an enjoyable experience as possible.
