My comments on tutoring Painting : understand the founding principles of design and color theory

All my years of high school I was involved in Art. I was member of the Art Club, Digital Graphics club, and Animation program. I'm currently a Sophomore at The Art Institute of Jacksonville majoring in Graphic Design. I've done freelance work for many clients one being MPI(Meeting Professionals International).
I love what I do, I enjoy every minute of it. In order to design something great one must be inspired even from the smallest things around us. My teaching Style is very visual. I try my best to have one on one experiences with those who I'm tutoring. Not everyone is as skilled, there for I have to be very patient and understanding.

I believe every student has their own style of learing. I am very much a visual learner and utilize this style. Many students, though, are tactile learners and/or find their attention is kept using computers. I love discovering what type of learner each child is. I like to always be positive and instill in my students that they can accomplish anything we just have to work together and discover their "niche". Seeing a child grow and succeed is my greatest reward.
I have earned a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work and have worked extensively with and for children including a Case Manager at Clay County Behavioral. I have always wanted to be a teacher so earned my Teaching Certification through St. John's River Community College in ESE and Pre-K through 3rd Grade. Learning comes with a pinch of confidence & creativity. :)

I have tutored for Acers tutoring in Orlando for a full year. I have full experience with teaching reading and writing, as well as somer lower level algebra and mathematic skills. The kids have ranged from ages 8-14. As well, I have been giving guitar lessons to kids between the ages of 10-14. The children have all been able to pick up quickly, and being a song writer, I encourage the kids to seek full creativity in their music and learning. In college, I've spent my time volunteering with the youth group, and helping mentor kids in the middle school age. Also, I am a double major, and have majored in Education, which has allowed me to work with JEA and create lesson plans and teach a class of seventh graders.

More About This Tutor...

I utilize a very structured teaching style that usually utilizes a lot of examples and visual aides. It also takes getting to know your student and what they best respond to. I'm a very no nonsense kind of teacher and do not allow my students to veer off track in the middle of sessions. I do believe that every individual child requires different methods to best absorb the topic which they're trying to understand. I do have strong skills in finding what works best for each child.

A Little Bit About Me...

As a graduate of East Carolina University, I have continued to be persistent in every aspect of my teaching career. I have earned only a bachelor degree in Elementary Education with a minor in child studies, which have helped me to develop and become the teacher that I am now. During the last four years of my college career, I have taught in a public school and have tutored children to help them succeed in their academics.
My teaching style is very different, but I love being able to differentiate my lessons to best suit my students. I do believe that all children have different learning styles, so when I deliver instruction, I try to combine the types of styles and incorporate kinesthetic activities for the students to visually see and have that hands on experience. I believe repetition helps children to learn and grasp instruction as well. Through repetition and correct delivery, ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that the key to a productive and happy life is a solid, formal education. I also believe that education should be exciting and challenging and that every child should dream big. I am a calm and patient tutor who will strive to find the teaching style that is best for your individual child. As a child I hated school and I was determined that I would do whatever it took to rear a confident child who was not afraid of school and loved to learn. I will do whatever it takes to address your child’s needs and find a successful approach for his or her tutoring.
My first experience tutoring was in college as a Project Appalachia volunteer. As my daughter grew up I was very involved at her schools, as home room mother and volunteer. Susan is now a 21 year old pre-med, Honors Program senior with a 4.0. As a Human Services Planner for the City of Jacksonville I have honed my co ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

After graduating with High Honors from the University of Florida, I started my career in the field of Special Education. I taught both mentally and physically handicapped children/adults. I taught both in a school setting and home setting for students unable to physically attend school. After several years of teaching in the United States, I was able to teach at an International School in Papua New Guinea. I taught English as a second language. Having to use different styles of teaching in Special Education was very beneficial. My next adventure in teaching came in Dunedin, New Zealand, where I was able to teach both English and Art at a very small elementary school. My experience has been mostly with younger students.
I have always enjoyed working and playing with children. I am a positive person, “The glass is always half full.” Through positive response and encouragement ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I most enjoy working with middle and high school students. Usually, they are able to break down complex problems and think abstractly. When I work one on one with a student I am patient to understand where they are in relation to their struggle in comprehending a particular concept. I tend to go back and break down the concepts into singular parts and go through each step with the student so that it will later stick with them. Encouraging them along the way and celebrating their understanding of each step in the process boosts their confidence to further complete the problem, or task, at hand.
I have volunteered in middle school, high school and college ministry with River City Church in Jacksonville over the last four years. I spent a year in middle school and a year in high school ministry before I committed my time to college ministry. Teaching and connecting with middle school ... read more
