A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style centers around listening and observing the child as an individual to determine his or her needs and style of learning. Not everyone learns in the same manner, therefore in order for each child to meet his potential in the classroom, especially a child that struggles, a unique plan may have to be devised.
For the past eight years I have run a small business from my home and have been a substitute teacher, grades K-12 in Duval Co. since 2003. I have enjoyed teaching and have often taught ESE students and totally mentally disabled students. These children are often the most rewarding to teach due to their higher need and receptiveness. As a graduate of East Carolina University, I have continued to be persistent in every aspect of my teaching career. I have earned only a bachelor degree in Elementary Education with a minor in child studies, which have helped me to develop and become the teacher that I am now.
