Before, during, and after my college graduation, I tutored fellow students having difficulty in math, particularly Algebra. When I began teaching, I not only tutored my own students after school, but I also tutored children on weekends and summer break. When teaching high school, I worked in after-school programs with an emphasis on Geometry. I have also tutored private individuals in Geometry, and have been quite successful in assisting them in raising their standardized test scores.

In my opinion, there is nothing that can replace the elements of positive regard and genuine concern for a student's welfare in developing a trusting relationship that engenders educational success. Also, I've found that the use of humor is helpful in developing a positive relationship with the individual learner. We learn best from teachers we like.
