I love teaching and have taught for 20+ years. I enjoy challenges in teaching and use a variety of teaching methods in order to reach students of multiple ability levels. I am very hands-on. In science this mainly means lab. For tutoring I will use a variety of self-developed labs that use common everyday materials. My first priority is talking with the student and figuring out what difficulties they are having with the subject. After identifying some problem areas, I help the student understand the material and teach them effective ways for studying the material. I am very respectful to each student's level of knowledge of the subject at hand, and I know that some topics can be very complicated and frustrating at times. As a tutor, I will make it my duty to improve the student's understanding of the problem subjects and help instill effective study methods to learn the material. Every child wants to learn, although a more creative design may be needed to find a child's greatest potential. Patience, consideration, and encouraging words are simple tasks to help the self esteem of children in a child's education. With a degree from Purdue University and continuing on to get a degree in engineering, I am engaged in many areas of science and math. Even at a young age I taught my younger sister basic mathematical and reading skills even before she entered kindergarten; we called it "school". The youngest, my brother, in which we are both diagnosed with ADHD, is amazing. I quickly learned to be patient with him when helping with his homework because I can see the same frustration on his face I had at his age when trying to concentrate on a difficult task.

I really enjoying being able to help students understand chemistry and biochemistry. I believe that being able to give students the individual attention they need, can make all of the difference in helping them understand the difference concepts to be able to apply them. I endeavor to make learning easier in the future through the patience and developing tool set for them to use when addressing different problems.
