I am a doer who has shared his knowledge and experience in a variety of ways. When I worked as a photographer and filmmaker, I taught those subjects at many different institutions, from an after-school program for elementary school kids to NYU Graduate School. For many years now, I have worked as a science writer and editor. I mentor many newly minted Chinese scientists and engineers who work for IBM in Beijing, teaching them both English grammar and the proper form and style for peer-reviewed scientific papers they are writing. A lack of resources overseas drove me to be creative and exercise methods of experiential learning: hands-on and engaged learning. A Little Bit About Me...

During my four years at Roger Williams University, I was involved with a number of activities that helped me in my desire to become an English teacher. Volunteering with the Girl Scouts of Rhode Island as a leader, editing my college newspaper and sitting on a number of committees are just a few of the opportunities I had at my college. Now, as a first year teacher, I am using my love of teaching and aiding others to not only help my students be the best students they can be, but I am also encouraging my students to get involved in their community and the world around them.
