I think I can provide exceptional one on one tutoring for a student of any age. My knowledge has been spread out throughout my college years and this would be a great first step into teaching. I am willing to do whatever a child needs in order for them to fully grasp a concept. I often think outside of the box and think I can provide some creativeness that other teachers cannot. I am currently a Special Education student at Northern Illinois University. I at the beginning of the education program and think this would an excellent chance to start teaching. Mathematically, I teach from a logical, or procedural approach. As students work their way up to Calculus and further, it is important to understand the process of problem-solving and not focus on the numbers alone. Many sciences can become abstract, I like to relate topics to things students may encounter everyday or already understand in order to get a foundation before complicating topics with smaller detail. I am very positive and try to push students as fast as they absorb the information. I feel it is hard to enjoy a subject if you do not understand it or see how it effects you. For this reason, I try to bring real-world uses for topics and bring these subject to life. I graduated from the University of Missouri in Columbia. I have multiple degrees in computer and electrical engineering from Purdue University. I also have a partial degree in Accelerated Associates in Culinary Arts from Kendall College and a few classes in Computer Science in the Masters program in Computer Science and the University of Illinois Chicago. I have experience in manufacturing engineering, Research and Development, Sales, Management in Computers and several years as a Chef. My early teaching and learning style was to do as many problems that were thrown at me in class or the text. I learned quickly that you need to understand the problem in order to solve problems that aren't set up for you. I enjoy teaching and have a lot of patience with my students becuase I believe they all have the potential to meet and exceed their expectations with the proper tutuledge.

As a young adult I always had a passion for teaching. I began tutoring at a young age and then after high school began working towards my teaching certificate in English. While in college I worked as a private tutor and also volunteered as a tutor at a local middle school. I currently teach high school English and also advise our school's newspaper and yearbook. I love teaching and working with all types of students. I believe that to enable our children to learn we must first teach them how to be critical thinkers.
