My teaching style varies depending on the area of math being taught. For individualized instruction I mainly use a questioning process to lead individual students to discover how to process the math problems. This has them involved with building the solutions to the various problems and helps reinforce what they already know. I then instruct on the areas they do not understand or struggle getting this helps focus my efforts on their needs. This method also helps students close the knowledge gaps and understand where they need to work the most. My education includes degrees in Environmental Biology (BS, Ohio University) and Plant Ecology (MA, San Francisco State University). As a graduate student, I taught biology courses to biology majors and non-majors. I have been employed as a research associate in the biotech industry, as an environmental consultant for several engineering firms, and as an ecologist/program manager for a non-profit conservation organization.
