Everybody learns differently, and I vary my teaching style to meet the individual learning needs of the person whom I am tutoring. One major constant of my teaching style, though, is that I heavily emphasize repetition in one manner or another.
Having assisted with homeschooling my brother for the last five years, I have extensive experience in tutoring. I hold two bachelor degrees, a BA in French Language and Literature and a BS in Microbiology. I also have a certificate in African Studies and a minor in Chemistry. Therefore, I have a very well-rounded background in both the sciences and the liberal arts. I am also certified to teach English as a foreign language. I have worked with many non-native English speakers to improve or perfect various aspects of the English languages, including speaking, reading, writing, and listening comprehension.
I work with each student in the way that is best for their particular learning styles. I prefer a laid-back approach to learning, allowing students to understand at their own pace and make connection on their own. This does not mean, however, that I do not have high expectations for my students.

During my time at Ohio University, I excelled in a variety of classes and activities. Most of my interests involve writing. In English Literature and History classes, I wrote complex essays. I also took Journalism courses at OU's prestigious Scripps school, and wrote for the school paper. Outside of class, I have written for professional publications such as SCENE Magazine.
