I'm not currently fluent, but I have lots of experience with Spanish in both classrooms and in cultural settings. I would love to help with a 1st or 2nd year level class. I believe the greatest thing about knowledge is the ability to share it. I love to learn, but that is only the first step. I graduated with a BA in Spanish Education in 2005. I then taught in IL for a year at a small school teaching Spanish 2, 3, and 4. I then got accepted at Purdue University as a Spanish Graduate Teaching Assistant. While there I taught 4 semesters of SPAN 102. After grad school I got a job in Fort Wayne, IN teaching Spanish 1 and 2 at a large suburban high school. I love working with teenagers, however, over the last five years I've realized that I much prefer working with them on a small group or one-on-one basis. I enjoy tutoring those who are in Middle School or High school. I feel as though they tend to have a higher capacity for sustaining attention. Those are unique ages that can really build a foundation for later education. I believe that one-on-one time is essential in learning.
