There is a way to reach every child. It is my responsibility to figure out how an individual child learns best, and then use it to show him learing is fun! I enjoy challenging a child to think - to think more creativly, tieing together concepts to gain understanding. There is nothing like seeing a child grasp a new concept, or watching their eyes light up as something which seemed boring or unimportant becomes exciting and relevant!

I vary my teaching style. Some students are content with just reading while others need hands-on and visual experience. I believe in using technology, as the Smart Board and computer instruction in addition to textbook instruction. I do my best to keep the student's interest in mind, and I work at the student's pace. A Little Bit About Me...

I thoroughly enjoyed the Marketing and Public Relations field, but I never could have imagined the fulfillment I would recieve within education. I believe that each child learn differently, and as such, I have found the best way to teach is to cater to each child's individual learning style. In working one-on-one with students, I feel as though it is crucial to build a trusting relationship in which the child feels comfortable stating whether or not the teaching style I am using is working for them. Being only 22 years old, I feel as though I have an advantage, as I am close enough in age to the students that they are able to almost see me as a peer, but I'm also old enough for them to respect me as an adult.
