A Little Bit About Me...

I taught in the Cloverleaf Schoolistrict for 9 years. I spent the first 3 years teaching as a building sub in grades 1-6. I spent 6 years in first grade teaching all areas including math, science, reading, phonics, and vocabulary. I was very active in the community as well, helping with coaching, announcing and tutoring at the elementary level.
I believe in using a sense of humor to help develop a positive rapport with the students. I spent a lot of time developing vocabulary and using phonics to help the students build fluency in reading.

I am a recent college graduate from Ashland University with a degree in communication and French. While at Ashland as well as in high school, I was involved in peer tutoring programs. In high school, I tutored a second year student in French, mainly in grammatical concepts. In terms of mathematics, I was always a strong student in math. I completed algebra and geometry courses throughout high school. I was also a strong student in history. I completed American history courses in high school and college and even analyzed historical documents in one course. I have been playing piano for almost 14 years. I played mostly popular music such as What a Wonderful World, but I also played some classical pieces by Beythoven. Helping Educate All Those who need extra Help

34 years in education; 11 in high school teaching biology, ecology, field biology (a course I developed), life science, and English; 15 in gifted education K-12, teaching middle school language arts and providing enrichment, co-and extra-curricular activities, and career guidance, grades K-12; 8 as a Gifted Coordinator/Supervisor in several locations.
