Some of my original students from the 70's are now grandparents in their mid fifties. However, I am still young at heart and still enjoy working with young people. I am a very thorough and detail-oriented person, as I do not like to take short cuts. I want my students to understand the topic and get to the root of the concept and then work on problems and questions.I would consult many books and prefer making notes and learn organic chemistry by writing equations. Students retain by going over and reviewing the topics discussed earlier. Homework and review questions help them in using the topics reviewed and giving them better understanding.

I am also a poet and an inspirational and motivational speaker. I have written poems for my coworkers for twenty years at my employer. I would say that my style of teaching is creative. I stress the fundamentals, making sure of the foundation, but remain creative in the approach that reaches the student.
