Let's make learning fun!!!

I have worked with children for over 15 years. During this time I have provide homework help and tutoring in Math, Reading and Spanish. The children that I have worked with range in age from 5 to 17 years old. I have also done an extensive amount of work with infants and toddlers in the field of early learning as a nanny. My experience in working with children of so many ages has helped me to know what steps to implement in order to make children feel comfortable and confident while addressing challenges to learning materials. I have always enjoyed math and reading as a student and spent a short period of time studying Spanish abroad. During my time in college I was even more hands on with the youth enrichment at my church, working as a counselor/mentor for Vacation Bible School and the after school program.

A Little Bit About Me...

Currently, I am certified to teach elementary education. I previously taught first grade for 1.5 years. During seasonal breaks, I tutored reading and math to help prepare third and fourth grade students for state testing. Also, I spent several months tutoring an elementary student in math.
I believe that teaching styles need to vary depending on the student's needs and learning styles. For example, some students may be better listeners, while others prefer hands on materials.
