I am a very patient teacher. I love teaching one on one, and I receive great satisfaction when they really understand the subject matter. I am not over bearing, and I feel all children learn at their own pace.I try to strike up a bond with the childen to trust me, yet knowing I am not their parents. I have three children ages 12, 17 and 20 and have had many years of real world tutoring with them. I've also tutored other students, which is far easier. These experiences have allowed me to discover many techniques to keep students engaged and prevent them from becoming frustrated. I'm sure I can work successfully with your son or daughter. I have a strong background in math and science (Ph.D. from MIT) and excellent English and organizational skills. I have passed the MTEL Communication and Literacy Skills test and the MTEL Middle School Mathematics test and hold a Massachusetts license to teach middle school math.
