A Little Bit About Me...

I have a BA in Microbiology and an MA in Zoology. I have 7-8 years experience teaching biology, ecology, microbiology and environmental science at the college level. In addition I have many years experience in software engineering, technical writing, software quality assurance, and technical editing.
In the classroom I rely on traditional lecture, supplemented by Powerpoint presentations, animations, and lists and diagrams on the white board. I usually assign a research paper. In the last few semesters I've implemented through Blackboard some online testing, as well as tutorial "homework" quizzes, where the students get feedback directing them to coverage of particular sections of the text.
