I graduated Alonso High School in Tampa Florida in June 2013. I graduated with a 3.4 GPA and a strong passion for History and Writing. Every English and History class that I finished I always ended up with grades above a "B" grade and enjoyed learning new material from the subjects. Every paper that I wrote for English was one that I took hours of writing and revision so that I would come out with the best product for the best grade. Once while subbing, I entered a classroom where the students had been allowed to watch Jerry Springer on TV for the last two weeks. I couldn't let this continue, but I saw how emotional the class was about the show. I encouraged them to write their own talk show and told them we would perform it the next day. I find that connecting student's interest with the subject matter to be learned is the best way to teach.
After completing my undergraduate degree in English Literature at Florida State University, I worked as a substitute teacher in Hillsborough County for two years. In 2009, I completed my Master's Degree in Communication at University of South Florida while simultaneously employed at the Department of Special Education.
