I have a BA in pol sci from Wright State University with a minor in math. Since then, I have tutored at-risk students in various programs in San Diego. I attended National University and earned a teaching certificate. I worked in a junior college in San Diego as a tutor in math, English, reading, and social studies. I went on to work in the San Diego Unified School district as a teacher's aide and as a substitute teacher. I then accepted a position at the world famous Scripps Research Institute. Since English was not the first language of many of these scientists, it was necessary for me to help edit their papers prior to submission using extensive grammatical skills. By myself being a person who has a GED and went to Job Corps. My teaching style is related to my background as overcoming all types of odd's in order to succeed. I volunteered in high school and college tutoring students to read. In high school I was also a music tutor, and a general tutor. Holding a degree in English and History has taught me a lot about many areas of learning that could be used to teach kids effectively.
