I believe that students can reach their potential if they are given the tools that they need. My job is to be the toolbox for them. As a special education teacher, I adapt my teaching style to meet the needs of the students. I believe that a child should be given a vast amount of positive reinforcement and always be spoken to and taught with respect. I also believe children need boundaries set that will consistently be reinforced. Our job is to teach them those boundaries but to do so with compassion. Prior to getting married, I worked for nine years in public schools in Utah and California. Since 1991, I have worked an additional nine years in public and private schools from elementary through high school as a Resource Specialist. A Little Bit About Me...

I strive to include various learning styles when working with children. Some students learn best by listening or writing, while others need movement or tactile experiences to help in comprehension. I believe in keeping students engaged at all times, to minimize wasted time. Every child has potential. A teacher just has to know how to reach each child, and that happens when the students builds trust with the teacher.
I have taught music in public education for the last 15 years. I have been involved in church music ministry for over 25 years, and currently am the church pianist in Stockton, Ca. I love working with children of all ages. Math is my second love and I almost majored in math instead of music. Math was always easy for me in school. A Little Bit About Me...

As a recent college graduate with a BA in Spanish and a BA in International Affairs, I possess current experiences from my studies in the United States, Europe and South America. Since attending college in Spain and Argentina I understand word usage and vocabulary differences within the Spanish language. Mixed with my superior Spanish skills I am able to discuss and explain political differences in Spanish and explain, on a historical level, how government has evolved internationally. As a past member of the Sacramento Jazz Society I also have a strong background in music both in practice and theory.
