A Little Bit About Me...

My passion for education drives me to a place, where I desire to teach children the joy in reading. In the past I developed a program to teach reading and mathe through culinary arts. Through research I have been able to develop extensive grammatical skills. I believe that in order to bring about change, you have to become the change. Children are like a garden of flowers who need only to be natured and love. In that type of enviroment any child can learn.
Education is my passion an on this road of life I am always striving to learn new things. Working with children gives me an opportunity to impart knowledge through their surroundings. I enjoy teaching very much. I think a strength trying to use a student's active content or prior knowledge to connect to material. My attempts are always to make the student feel empowered by the education process. If you can connect to way what they are into, either cartoons, hip-hop, popular culture, with conservative humor, then sometimes you can gain their understanding much quicker. My teaching methods are rather basic. I respect the student, and I encourage the student. I have found that reward goes much farther than ridicule or punishment when motivating a student to believe in themselves, and thus excel. I also teach the importance of information. What I mean by that, is that I teach the student why the information they are learning is relevant to the real world, I don't teach to a test. By employing these methods over the past several years, I have enjoyed a great deal of success with my students, and they have excelled beyond expectations.

A Little Bit About Me...

Currently I am the three to five year old Sunday school teacher for my church. I enjoy this age group because they surprise me every time with their knowledge and insight. A Little Bit About Me...

My love of the French language led me to pursue my BA specializing in the language and culture in college. After college I immediately traveled to France on a very generous scholarship from Rotary Foundation. This permitted me to live and study at a very old and prestigious university in Poitiers, France. I also tutored the children of my host family in English to earn a bit of extra money for traveling. I learned Spanish while in the Army for the purpose of intelligence gathering.
