Every child can learn, but they don't all learn the same way

I have been teaching for over 10 years. I am currently a second grade teacher. I tutor during the summers and have students of all ages, including middle school and high school. I believe all children can learn. It takes a special teacher to find out how a child learns and create lessons to engage that learning style. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that I have been a fine teacher, both on the high school level, and at the university level. I feel that students should work with subjects, as much as possible, that motivate them to do their best in areas that interest them. For example, I once had a student interested in baseball. I was able to encourage and enable him to write a fine paper on Mickey Mantle. This was about the only subject that interested him, and he wrote an excellent and well researched paper. English composition wasn't his favorite subject, but baseball was. Again, I believe that interest and motivation are essential to learning in any subject.
