I've also taught adult education for six years at Terrebonne Parish Juvenile Detention Center. Throughout my teaching career,I've also worked as a mental health professional. I admired working as a mental health professional,because it helped me to understand and relate to my students better.

I enjoy explaining certain concepts and then I may give the student a few problems to work on their own. I also love to create little tricks and fun ways to remember certain concepts. If possible, I love to you use hands on activities. I have tutored in high school. After getting to college, I tutored on campus for four years in subject areas: Math, English, and Spanish. I have taken a few education courses. I have taught a lesson at a high school. I have also been introduced to different techniques/ways of teaching. Some people have a fear of math, but I love it and enjoy teaching it. I have been blessed to be able to teach it in a way that has helped many students and I hope to help you in any way that I can! :)

I am currently, teaching Business courses in Office Administration, Keyboarding, Communication, and Information Technolgy; for disadvantage youths. I have experience teaching technical and educational courses, to disadvantage youths. I also, have extensive experience in Leap testing.I taught elementary classes for over 3 years grades 2nd-6th grade within a private organization. I taught classes for a Private organization as a Business Instructor, teaching classes in Management, Computer Information, and Communication. My teaching style is friendly and approachable. I find putting a student at ease in the beginning allows them to open up to me in order for us to both find out how he or she learns best, especially since I feel learning styles vary for each individual and often differs for some subjects. For example, I may want to use pictures and art to explore history versus reading and lecture type presentations. I have taught both college and AP High School for college credit in the areas of Humainties, Religious Studies and English composition at three different institutions. Though I do well in large classroom settings, I prefer more personalized instruction settings. I think I would make an excellent tutor in the areas of English Composition and Literature and World History on both the high school and college level, and would likely do quite well to tutor high school French.
