I obtained a B.S. in Biology, with a concentration in aquatic science, from Wittenberg University in 2006. During my undergraduate studies, I tutored elementary students in math and science twice a week for two years. After college, I moved into the marine science profession. In August of 2008, I started teaching High School Biology I, Earth and Space Science, and Physical Science to students in Polk County. I believe that each person is an individual and as such needs personalized help. Not everyone learns as the same rate,but given time and the proper reinforcement will learn. Students much be allowed to have a certain freedom to choose likes and strengths as well as weaknesses. We all have them! If the teacher can show the relevance to a student's life then the student will understand the "why" for learning. One on one as well as equal treatment will bring results.
