I know what it takes to teach and learn a foreign language because I am fluent in French. I was inspired by watching the great teachers that I had in high school and college. I have taught English as a second language, so I have classroom experience to add to my general knowledge of the language and culture.
I believe in letting the child set the pace when it comes to private tutoring. I would listen to child to learn what truly interests them and inspires them. I would then use this is my lessons so they enjoy the learning process. Children enjoy learning anything when it is taught in the appropriate way. I learned this very quickly teaching English to French elementary age students.

I have had many years experience teaching students at the middle and secondary levels. I have an exceptional knowledge of all areas of English - American and British literature, composition, and grammar - demonstrated in part by my perfect scores on the teaching professional test, the Praxis. Additionally, I have had five years experience teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) at all levels. I have enjoyed great success teaching ESL to absolute beginners, with many of my students progressing from no English to 5th or 6th grade reading levels after one year's instruction.
I enjoy teaching students at all ability levels. I have the expertise to challenge and assist the most advanced learners, and the skills and teaching strategies to lead struggling students to high levels of success.
