Teaching is the most fulfilling experience I have ever had. I am a person who learns by doing, and it has been my experience that actively working with the material alongside the student (rather than lecturing) is the most effective approach to imparting information. I believe that if a person is given the tools and is actively guided along the learning path, anyone can achieve academic success. As a supervisor and trainer in the military, it was my responsibility to train the new individuals that came into the job. There was a lot of studying material that I constantly had to sit down and go over with them. We made flashcards, took notes, made up quizzes, did verbal question and answers, etc. I actually used to tutor math in High School when I was in an advanced Calculus class and have helped many friends with their college math. As a grad student, I am writing lots of essays which has really helped me with my English skills. I have a lot of academic experience that I would love to utilize while tutoring.
I have taught a few weapons classes and use of force classes as a security forces member in the Air Force. However, I have never taught classes on a regular basis.

Although I had a family and worked full time I decided to go back to school and get my advanced degree from Johns Hopkins University. It was a great school and I felt a wonderful sense of accomplishment by obtaining my degree. While obtaining a BA degree from Johns Hopkins University, I was inducted into the honor society Alpha Sigma Lambda, and president from 2000-2002. A Little Bit About Me...

I would say that my teaching style is very interactive. Anyone can give instructions but I love feedback from a one on one situation as well as a group environment. I base alot of my instruction on analogies; when a person can relate an experience or another word to a term being tought, their understanding is broadened and 99% of the time embedded in the longterm memory.
