My teaching style is upbeat and engaging. I believe that just telling a student the material and expecting them to know it later is a misconception. How I was trained to tutor students was to have them explain the material to me, instead of giving blatant answers, or if we don't know we could review the textbook, the notes, or look it up in another resource. Not only does this give the student the correct and complete answer, it allows them to retain study skills which will be vital down the road in other courses and reinforces great study habits. I have loved Chemistry ever since I was in high school. I continued on to pursue my BS in Chemistry and learned a lot, not only in that field, but also in many areas of math as well. I have continued on in my education and am currently in the final year of my PhD, studying Polymer Science.
