When I was 13 years old I saw Romeo and Juliet and have been a literature addict ever since. This is why I am an English major who is now a couple of courses into her Master's literature program. My dream is to one day be a professor of Romanticism Literature. My favorites are Jane Austen, the Brontes' and Shakespeare as well as the romantic poets like (Byron, Keats and Shelly) but nearly having my English degree has introduced me to others as well. I like math because it's all about building off of fundamentals. Once a person has a good hold of the fundamentals, they can begin to apply them to more complicated problems. I find the best way to build up the fundamentals is to relate it to the student in some way. Once the material is related, the student is better able to focus and concentrate, which allows for a quicker and more firm grasp of the subject matter. As a graduate from the Oregon Institute of Technology I have had an in depth education in math, physics, and electronics with a healthy supply of technical writing. While in school I was able to help other fellow students in their math classes, much as I did when I was in high school. This experience, coupled with growing up in a house with two teachers for parents, has helped me obtain a useful teaching style.

As a graduate in meteorology with a minor in math, I have had plenty of experience with math and science. I have had the pleasure of sharing this knowledge by tutoring children in these fields. My first experience occurred when I was a senior in college: I tutored students in math individually and in groups. It was enjoyable to assist students in Algebra up to Calculus. I gained more tutoring experience when I assisted high school and college students while I worked for Carney Educational Services recently. I have also been a teacher. I have been teaching children of all ages in many settings for the past 6 years. I have worked with students of all levels and helped them be successful. In college I tutored elementary through college students including English Language Learners, in various subjects. I have also helped and taught in the classroom, mostly in small groups or one-on-one. Through my work as an aide at an elementary school I have learned the standards for each grade and am familiar with the curriculum and methods used, especially for the lower students who I work with.
