During my studies at SUNY Buffalo I tutored in Regents Math which I also took when I was in high school. In Virginia Tech I was a Graduate Research Assistant. I ran Aerospace Engineering labs, assigning work to undergraduate students which I graded. I was available for multiple hours per week assisting students in their homework and lab reports. Since then I have been a math tutor in calculus. Engineering requires a solid understanding of math from the basics such as algebra and geometry to more difficult calculus and linear algebra. What I have learned in both mathematics and physics is used almost on a daily basis which is why I know the subjects so well.

Over the course of my education, I have developed a strong understanding of math and science courses. In addition, I have a passion for the arts, psychology and management. Attending both a community college as well as a large 4-year institute has exposed me to a variety of teaching styles. Through this I have learned effective ways to explain and work through different learning styles.

A Little Bit About Me...

Between my studies at Roberts Wesleyan College in the liberal arts field, where I earned a bachelors degree, and my studies in math and computational science I have an exceptionally broad knowledge base. My work experience further illustrates this having worked briefly as an English teacher in Prague as well as the various sales and customer service jobs I have had including Verizon Wireless, Wegmans, and Radio Shack.
I love working with people and teaching them about the things that I am passionate about. I am very patient and throughout and I have learned a lot of valuable techniques such as asking the right questions to confirm that the student has learned the lesson as well as planning out what the important points are that I need to cover. I also try to illustrate points using a variety of learning styles that over time I can customize to individual students.
