I have a PhD in Spanish and Portuguese from a well-known university in the U.S. I have about 20 years of experience teaching Spanish and Portuguese on the college level. This includes elementary and intermediate levels, conversation, composition, literature, culture, film and medical Spanish. I also enjoy tutoring younger students. Fun Tutor Focusing on Individualizing for each Child's Needs

I have been teaching for 4 and a half years as a third grade teacher in the city of St. Louis. In this position I have created lesson plans and have worked in a whole group setting as well as individually with students. I have done many forms of assessments to show where the student is and what they still need help with. I am currently going to Webster University to complete my Masters in Reading and plan on completing this in the summer of 2014.

As a certified teacher, I have several hundred hours in a classroom with field experience and student teaching. I am familiar with state and Common Core standards, classroom lingo, and classroom/school procedures. A Little Bit About Me...

My style of teaching varies with the child, their age, personality, subject, and amount of time we have. Besides teaching 2nd grade religion for 14 years my daughter has ADD. I have worked with kids who need to keep moving while they learn, to kids who need complete quiet. Some kids are more visual learners; others need to act the lesson out, while others do fine quietly reading. The important thing is to make it interesting so they WANT to learn. Older kids with a higher level of maturity don't require as entertaining a lesson. They want to see how to apply what they are learning to their life.
