College grad with teaching/tutoring experience; kid-friendly

I prefer a hands-on approach, especially with science and math. I believe an education is more than memorizing definitions but understanding and being able to apply concepts broadly. I have found children grasp a concept better when they are allowed to explore concrete applications instead of studying abstract ideas. A typical tutoring session would include a review of classroom material, an experiment or observation applying that information, and homework formatted to the style his or her teacher's testing style. However, each child learns differently and adjustments will be made to more closely fit each individuals learning style and needs.

As a recent graduate from the University of Alabama, I have possessed a passion for learning in hopes to become a doctor. I have earned a BS in Biology and a MS in Human Environmental Science.
